It's more of a difference in the mediums folks use today. Roleplay is still super popular, but moreso through apps like kik and the like. Smartphone culture has also made using video/voice chat a lot easier. Likewise, stuff like Tinder has made resorting to roleplay kind of...antiquated?

The other thing to keep in mind too is FAKE was never an RP community itself. It was a site about promoting "sexiness". It was that direct lack of focus, coupled with extremely poor technical engineering, that made FAKE fall by the wayside. For fuck's sake, why hasn't it changed appearances in almost ten years? Seriously.

I've actually given thought to putting in some work for Heddate, get fake and other communities at the level of usability that might propel them into post 2005 internet culture. But for one A) I fucking hate the guy behind the Heddate community, and his complete and utter lack of interesting in making his projects "better" speaks volumes about how incredibly lazy of a programmer he really is, and 2) Whatever amount he would want, it's not worth it, period. Beyond hosting fees, Fake is a negative investment-of time, of money, of capability.

There's very small things that members could do to improve traffic to the site. Twitter, Facebook, perhaps a tumblr and something else are a must. I've purposed Tinychat/streams of vintage porn to a few of the council members before. Fun stuff that the community looks forward to, and WANTS to be involved in.

Not a single one of them has put forth the effort to make it happen.

Even with FAKE's bugs, there's small things we could do that would drastically help the site. It would take a small amount of work, but that's it. I'd do it myself, but I'm not sticking my neck out to save a site that's never shown appreciation to those that work.

We don't change ownership of a wikipage unless it's under special conditions; all of which have to begin with the owner being inactive for a long time.

Data, including wikipage data, doesn't auto delete because it's a bit much to assume that an inactive member will never come back.
If every page I owned deleted when the page/I was inactive for 180 days, then I'd have lost all the pages I own on Elftown, Elfpack and Fake more than once.

You aren't going to get far most of them time trying to talk to [Virgin Slut]. The entire reason I have so much authority on his sites is because he's too busy to deal with them, or doesn't want to. So unless it's an account issue or a complaint regarding me, it's generally best to talk to me.
